Manchester United are showing interest in Argentina international midfielder Ever Banega as he stalls over a new contract at Valencia.
Moyes keen on Valencia midfielder The 25-year-old star is under contract at the Mestalla until 2015 but in no hurry to sign the extended deal that the Spanish club have put on the table.
Valencia signed Banega from Boca Juniors in 2008 and, after a troubled start when he failed to settle in Spain, came close to joining Everton on a season-long loan deal in August 2009.
David Moyes was so keen to sign the young Argentinean that he pushed for Everton to secure a home office work permit only for Valencia to pull out of the deal.
At the time, when Moyes thought he had secured the deal, he said: "Ever is on a year's loan. If he's good we will keep him, if he's not we can always send him back.
"He has very good ability and is a little bit similar to Mikel Arteta in lots of ways in that he can retain the ball and pass it."
Banega went back to Valencia and played 36 La Liga games that season, finally establishing himself as one of the best midfielders outside of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
He signed a new three-year deal in 2012 but is now back on Moyes' wanted list - probably as a fall-back option if United fail to sign Marouane Fellaini.
